Sydney, Australia – 1 August 2024 – Jackie M, the Malaysian-born, Sydney-based former restaurateur and founder of Masters of Malaysian Cuisine (MOMC), is set to lead an exclusive 10-day, 9-night Durian and Culinary Tour of Malaysia this August.
This tour, which boasts 39 participants primarily from Australia, offers a unique exploration of Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage, with a special emphasis on the celebrated durian fruit.
The tour aligns with Tourism Malaysia’s efforts to promote durian tourism this year, highlighting the country’s dedication to showcasing its diverse culinary landscape.
Tour Highlights:
- Official Launch of the Durian Cookbook: The tour coincides with the launch of Masters of Malaysian Cuisine (MOMC)’s award-winning Durian Cookbook on 11 August 2024. The event will feature an all-you-can-eat durian buffet, book signing, and a meet-and-greet with Jackie and elite chefs from MOMC.
- Culinary Exploration: Participants will visit renowned eateries in Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, and Penang featured in MOMC’s series “Famous Malaysian Cuisine.” These include iconic spots like Hameed Pata Mee Sotong, Onn Kee Chicken & Beansprouts, and Bisu Asam Laksa.
- Immersive Cultural Experiences: The itinerary includes visits to significant cultural and historical sites such as Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple, Chin Swee Temple, and Penang’s Street Art.
