Competition Winners Announcement – #MYFlavoursEurope
Our partner Facebook page, Apa Kau Rasa, recently ran a competition for their Malaysian followers for a chance to win one of two sets of prizes valued at RM1,000. The theme was based around our Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries campaign of bringing Malaysian flavours closer to Europe.
Each of the two winners would win:
- a signed copy of Zaleha Olpin’s award-winning cookbook My Rendang Isn’t Crispy (valued at RM99.90)
- eight units of Korean Delight In Cube by Sudee, valued at RM64
- 3 units of Raja Asam Pedas pastes valued at RM50
- Apa Kau Rasa eBook and 5 secret recipe links valued at RM19.90
- Online Malaysian Cooking Essentials 9-module course by Jackie M. valued at RM788
We brought together a judging panel consisting of experienced food competition judges and elite chefs from our Masters of Malaysian Cuisine group. The judging was done Live On Air (no recording saved) and in a lively hour-plus session, our judges debated the merits of each of the recipes and presentations.
Entries were judged based on how successfully they created recipes using a combination of Malaysian and European ingredients.
Four entries were shortlisted by the President of the Professional Culinaire Association of Malaysia Bob Adnin, Tourism Malaysia Culinary Ambassador, TV host and owner of Restoran Rebung Chef Dato’ Ismail Ahmad, That Rendang Lady Zaleha Olpin, acclaimed Malaysian artist Elias Mohd, and yours truly (Jackie M.).
Michelin-trained MOMC chef Rene Juefri was given the task of picking the two winners from this list.
I’m delighted to announce the winners as follows:
Wan Rogayah Wan Muhamad for Paella Nasi Ulam (paella with traditional Malaysian herbed rice) –
Siti Zaleha Binti Mohd Mujer for her Snowy Cheesecake Durian –
On behalf of Masters of Malaysian Cuisine and Apa Kau Rasa, I’d like to thank all the participants in the competition; our judges were unanimously impressed by the quality of the entries and by the effort you put into your creations.
I’d also like to thank all our competition prize sponsors and, of course, MAFI (the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries of Malaysia) for their partnership in this campaign.
And finally, our congratulations to the winners Wan Rogayah and Siti Zaleha for your stunning recipes!
