#MOMCMondays Grows Up To Become MOMC TV

Ever since Masters of Malaysian Cuisine launched, we have had interest from broadcasters about creating a TV show around our chefs and our content. This aligns with one of my core reasons for creating this group, which is to showcase Malaysian recipes and cooking techniques through the lenses of actual Malaysian cuisine experts so there’s on confusion about whether rendang should be crispy etc.

Over the last couple of months, I felt it was time to transition our Live cooking shows to a format where technical glitches (eg. internet speeds, wifi reception, etc.) didn’t get in the way of a good experience for our viewers. That’s why starting in March 2021, MOMC Mondays will relaunch as a recorded online cooking show, with more cooking – 2 recipes per episode – and more content in the form of behind-the-scenes footage, interviews and other fun stuff.

We are going to kick off the first series with the theme being Chef Johari Edrus’s specialty, which is Eclectic Cuisine. Our MOMC chefs will be tasked with creating dishes that are “eclectic” – with Chef Jo’s oversight and tutelage. Apart from seeing how the rest of our Masters handle the challenge of cooking outside our own area of expertise, it will also be the first time our audience gets introduced to our new MOMC chef and Nyonya expert, Debbie Teoh.

Each series will wrap up with a LIVE via Zoom call with all our chefs, and the great thing is that you will be able to join us onscreen to chat with us and hit us up with questions from the previous episodes – all you need to do is make sure you’re on our email list by signing up at MalaysianChefs.com/JoinToday.

We are so excited about this and we look forward to launching our first episode on Monday 1 March.  Keep your eyes peeled for our announcements in your email inbox or on our social media accounts 🙂
