Born in Penang, Malaysia, Norman moved to the United Kingdom in 1994 to study Quantity Surveying. After graduating with Honours, he worked in the construction industry for 9 years before switching his career to a full time chef. Norman’s first restaurant was opened in Manchester in 2006 and York in 2012, followed by two more in Malaysia in 2014 and 2016. In 2010, Norman joined the Formula One Lotus team, travelling around the world to cook for them.
Norman has been featured in MasterChef Malaysia, BBC’s Best Ever Dishes with Tom Kerridge, and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.

Norman was appointed as the Kuala Lumpur Food Ambassador in 2015 by the KL Mayor to promote Kuala Lumpur as a gastronomic destination to the European market. He curated the KL Big Kitchen Festival and handpicked local and international chefs to run cooking demonstrations and cookery classes.

In October 2018 he collaborated with Wah Nam Hong Supermarkets in the Netherlands to launch a new restaurant, ‘Wah Nam Hong Restaurant by Chef Norman Musa’, at Westfield Mall Leidschendam, The Hague.
Apart from running the restaurant, Norman also teaches Malaysian & South-east Asian cuisines at some of the top cookery schools in the UK and Netherlands.
